  1. Restaurants in Duluth received grades after recent food inspections by the Georgia Department of Public Health and the Gwinnett, Newton and Rockdale Department of Health. A list of restaurants in Duluth that were rated can be found at the link. Restaurants received an A for 90 to 100 points, B for 80 to 89, C for 70 to 79, and U for less than 70. Two restaurants on the list received a U rating, while the rest received an A or B . ( Patch)
  2. Asia Thomas is the first black woman to own a Subway franchise in Duluth. Thomas is an entrepreneur and also a mother of three children. According to her Thomas, she was working a corporate job, but when the pandemic hit, she couldn’t go to work in person. Looking to make extra money, a black woman who already worked for Subway encouraged Thomas to consider franchising. Thomas now has plans to buy even more. (BlackEnterprise.com)
