Jackson Weimer: How did you start your business on social networks?

Christine Bouc: I started my marketing agency in 2017 after purchasing Tai Lopez’s social media marketing agency course. Back then, I was helping clients with social media management, which primarily included creating content, scheduling posts, and setting up retargeting ads. During this time, my clients were asking about services related to Instagram and if there was anything I could sell them to help them get more followers, traffic, and leads. I started researching everything I could about growing Instagram and soon after I started growing my first Instagram Topics page. Growing that account to 10,000 followers relatively quickly, I started another theme page called @christienvirals and grew it to over 100,000 followers in 88 days by leveraging viral content and paying big influencers in my niche to like and comment on my posts. This would put my content on the explore page for the followers of the influencers who participated in my post. I even met my current girlfriend while growing this account when she saw one of my viral posts on her explore page, she clicked on my profile and DMed me saying it was cute. For me, going viral on that Instagram account was really the start of my social media business because I started acquiring a portfolio of clients online instead of cold calling/scheduling in-person meetings in my local area.

Weimer: How did you become a link to brands and meme pages?

Bouc: The first step for me was to start an Instagram theme page and grow it to a substantial number of followers. I also did my best to network with pages bigger than mine, but most importantly I kept creating new pages and growing them. At the height of my network, I had ~1.1 million followers on 14 pages and learned all about the algorithm, how to identify trending content, and how to read data in Instagram analytics to capitalize on what works best on a site specific. page.

I also learned how to create and test high converting shoutouts, also called “sets” that we would use for S4S or shoutout by shoutout. This eventually led me to meet an online friend who at the time owned @thecountrystyles, a country page of over 1 million followers, and invited me to a Telegram group full of meme page owners. From there, I connected with various people running messaging networks like the owner of a Fortnite messaging network and even the owner of a 500k+ meme page messaging network. This is how I managed to become a connector between the meme pages and the businesses. It all started with me learning how to grow theme pages that served as an “in” and earned me the respect of other meme page owners who invited me into their circle.

Weimer: How has the growth of theme pages helped you grow your personal brand and businesses?

Bouc: In my opinion, growing topic pages or reposting is the best way to learn about the algorithm and organic growth. You can gain a lot of knowledge about the Instagram algorithm and Instagram growth by posting three to five times a day to one account for a year. But creating content with that kind of volume is quite challenging and not possible for most creators.
