Assistant Chief Engineer

Full time Assistant Chief Engineer position available for an exciting opportunity with WVTF/Radio IQ. Great salary and benefits. Freedom to set your own schedule and travel within the Virginia coverage area.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working with the Chief Engineer on all technical operations and being ready, willing and able to assume all such functions in his absence.
  • You will be in charge of all remote transmitter (9), translator (13) and STL repeater (5) sites, including maintenance of all station assets and equipment at these sites, including all electronics, power plants, emergency power, HVAC systems, and physical structures.
  • Assists with maintenance of major WVTF studio equipment and facilities, including all terrestrial, Internet, and radio reading service broadcast functions.
  • Consults and provides training to radio station personnel on the technical operation of the station.
  • Oversees daily operations to ensure legal compliance with Federal Communications Commission rules and regulations

Radio host (part time)

Serves as production assistant, broadcaster, and lead control panel operator during weekday and weekend shifts as needed.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Follows specified formats during air shifts and performs programming duties as directed by the station’s program director.
  • When on duty, he is responsible for programming on broadcasts of WVTF and RADIO IQ programs, as well as online broadcasts.

Corporate Support Manager

The Corporate Support Manager is responsible for maximizing revenue for the station’s corporate support team. This is accomplished through systems implementation and overall market strategy, the sales manager’s own direct sales, and the general support and management of the underwriting team.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Manages department to meet or exceed monthly revenue targets; consistently update and implement sales management systems
  • Establish and follow procedures for setting individual vendor and station budget targets
  • Develop and employ a digital strategy for cross-platform subscriber recognition
